As the largest source for DeLorean parts in the world and home to one of the most iconic cars in automotive history, the DeLorean Motor Company is a privately held corporation headquartered in Humble, Texas.
In 1997, DMC acquired the remaining inventory and the exclusive distribution rights to the automobile after the original DeLorean Motor Company filed for bankruptcy in the early 1980's. They now distribute these parts to retail customers, and also supply their five affiliates located in California, Florida, Illinois, Washington, and The Netherlands.
In 2008, the company began assembling DeLoreans built from their existing inventory of new old stock, original equipment manufacturer, and their proprietary line of reproduction parts. The company also unveiled a prototype electric DeLorean in 2011, but continues to primarily serve the restoration, service, parts and accessory needs of DeLorean owners and enthusiasts through their worldwide dealer network.
Ever since 1998, the DeLorean Convention & Show (DCS) has been the largest organized gathering of DeLorean owners & enthusiasts (and Back to the Future fans) in the United States. This four-day event is organized on a biennial basis every other Father's Day weekend, usually attracting more than 100 DeLorean automobiles & their owners and nearly 1,000 enthusiasts & spectators.
The weekend is always filled with panel discussions and sessions about the DeLorean automobile hosted by industry experts & former factory employees, along with presentations and exhibits in vendor booths — with the pinnacle being the Saturday car show itself.
Since 2004, the event has also provided attendees the unique opportunity to meet and mingle intimately with select cast & crew from the Back to the Future Trilogy. Previous celebrity guests have included Creator/Writer/Producer Bob Gale, Actress Claudia Wells ("Jennifer Parker"), Actor Jeffrey Weissman ("George McFly"), Actor James Tolkan ("Mr. Strickland"), Production Illustrator Andrew Probert, Special Effects Coordinator Kevin Pike, Actor Donald Fullilove ("Goldie Wilson"), Actor/Singer Harry Waters, Jr. ("Marvin Berry"), and Actor Christopher Lloyd ("Doc Brown").
Founded in 1983, the DeLorean Owners Association is the oldest and largest international Association for DeLorean owners and enthusiasts all over the world. The Association's primary goal is to educate members and other owners and enthusiasts in DeLorean history and about the DeLorean automobile. The Association's mission is to act as a social organization to provide members with opportunities to meet and communicate information about the DeLorean marque.
The Association publishes a full color magazine called DeLorean World twice per year. Articles range from technical assistance, member interviews, event announcements and reviews, and much more.
Ever since it was first founded, the Association has hosted more than twenty DeLorean Expos for its members across the United States, as well as in Ireland where the DeLorean was originally manufactured.
